Wednesday 31 May 2023: The South African Communist Party (SACP) conveys its heartfelt message of condolences to the family of journalist Eusebius McKaiser and his colleagues in the journalism fraternity. McKaiser, 45, untimely passed away on Tuesday, 30 May 2023.
Outspoken and never shying away from commenting on topical issues, Eusebius McKaiser made his voice clear in fighting patriarchy and discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community members.
Notwithstanding our different ideological premises and outlooks, the SACP, notably through its leaders, enjoyed frank and robust discussions with or facilitated by McKaiser on a wide range of issues affecting our society.
The media need to help build a better society, including by openly serving the people as McKaiser notably did, for example, in taking a firm stance and fighting patriarchy and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ community members.
