SACP Moses Mabhida pays tribute to Cde Nomvuzo Tshabalala, Central Committee Member, and Cde Zoliswa Nyide, PEC Member

It is with great sadness to learn about the passing of Cde Zoliswa Nyide who was our Provincial Executive member and the Gender Transformation Convener in Moses Mabhida Province, KwaZulu-Natal. She passed away on 22 December 2020 after a short illness. She served as the Thembisile Hani District Executive Committee member before she was elected to the Provincial Executive Committee. 

 

Cde Zoliswa was passionate about gender issues and the emancipation of young people and young women in particular. As an educator, she contributed immensely in the education and empowerment of young people. We shall miss her contribution in the struggle.

 

Nomvuzo Tshabalala 

 

We have also suffered another blow by the passing of Cde Nomvuzo Tshabalala who is a long-serving councillor of eThekwini Municipality. She passed away on 26 December 2020 after a short illness. She served as the Deputy Mayor of eThekwini Municipality, the position she served with distinction. She was then nominated to the National Assembly where she was serving in a number of portfolio committees. She became the Deputy Provincial Chairperson of the South African Communist Party in Moses Mabhida after having served the party in many capacities. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the SACP Central Committee.

 

As we are engulfed by the unfortunate passing away of comrades at this time, we must remind everyone that we are at whirl storm of the second surge of an invisible disease which is covid-19 which demands our concerted effort to ensure safety of the nation.

 

The PEC will pay a visit to the Nyide family in UMzimkhulu on 27 December 2020 at 13h00. The visit to the Tshabalala family will be communicated in due course.

 

We dip our revolutionary banners in honour of these two gallant revolutionaries. Umkhonto Uwile. All communists to the front. May their departed souls rest in eternal peace. May their families find strength and comfort at this time of loss.
