17 December 2013
The Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) of Moses Mabhida Province, KwaZulu-Natal, had a successful Augmented PEC Plenary Session held at Albert Falls Dam, in Crammond, near Pietermaritzburg. The Augmented PEC was held 16 -17 December 2013, and was attended by PEC members, Central Committee members according to their deployments, District Office Bearers and the members of the PDF.
This was the last PEC meeting of the year, and took stock of the political and organisational work of the Party in the province. The meeting therefore adopted a program for 2014 in line with the national program as adopted by the Augmented Central Committee recently.
In the true character and practice of the Party, the Augmented PEC was punctuated by vibrant, robust, frank and honest debates on political and organisational matters.
Political Assessment
The PEC joined all South Africans and people of the World in mourning the passing of our former African National Congress (ANC) and State President, Nelson Mandela. Indeed his passing on represents the symbolic departure of the old generation that turned the ANC into a radical movement from its docility; this is a period that marked stronger ties between ANC and Communists in pursuit of the national struggle. We salute Tata Madiba and commit to consolidate, defend and advance this revolution in the interest of the working class and poor.
History has shown us how revolutionaries were marketized by the liberals. For example, not bringing forward the dialectics of the world`s great revolutionary fighter Che Guevara, rather the American big bourgeoisie has marketized him by selling the products that have his names and pictures. Same style of liberal market technique has been followed by South African big bourgeoisie and comprador bourgeoisie to posit Madiba without his revolutionary ideology and context. These bourgeoisie and their local representatives embrace Madiba as their fatherly figure, but not his ideals against bourgeoisie and domination.
The Augmented PEC calls on the working class of the world in general and South Africa in particular to rise against these reactionary approaches of bourgeoisie of marketizing Madiba, and to defend and uphold the revolutionary ideology of our true revolutionary comrade Nelson Mandela. YES, the working class and its vanguard party SACP can smell the filthy reactionary unity among the right wings in the name of "collective for democracy" and pseudo militancy with their verbal diarrhoea but not having any solid revolutionary programmes.
The Augmented PEC is resolved and stern on taking on this low intensity conflict which has been waged by the reactionary unity among the filthy pseudo-revolutionaries, right-wing counter-revolutionaries and a few media houses who are merely the stooges of world imperialism. These infantile disorders who talk against the working class must know that the South African working class is the really ticking time bomb on which they sit and speak about the counter-revolution. These reactionaries, who attained their revolutionary-hood overnight, and who have been teaching about class analysis in a contaminated version vis-à-vis the SACP which is steeled Marxist-Leninist principles must know that the people, and the people alone, are the greatest teachers. The masses of South Africa will teach these reactionaries about who failed workers and who is now aligning with the enemies of the masses.
Before releasing the statement that attacked our General Secretary, they must have done a class analysis of why there was no booing incident against the captain of world imperialism Barrack Obama. We humbly request these new marketing executives of class analysis to give up their wealthy back bags and go back to the masses to learn their elementary lessons about class analysis. It would be much useful not only to the South African working class but also the world toiling masses if these new born adventurists can explain why their mouths were reluctant to speak about the monopoly capitalism and also the other big bourgeoisie who have been exploiting the masses of South Africa. Can their class analysis explain why their leadership is suffering from this selective amnesia?
The Augmented PEC reflected at length on the sustained attack of our government, the alliance and the SACP, in particular by, amongst others, some renegade elements, most of them found among trade union NUMSA. These renegades have become an organised faction within COSATU. It poses itself as a paragon of a revolutionary repository and a demigod in the struggle for Socialism. They have resolved to target the SACP at every turn thereby trying to dislodge it as the vanguard Party of the working class. They must know that the Party will defend itself by all means. They will never succeed in destroying the SACP, not a bit.
The most perturbing tendency that has festered within this organised faction is the tribal and regional mobilisation of its members in pursuing this anti-COSATU and anti-alliance agenda. We are happy that majority of COSATU members, including NUMSA members are beginning to see the bigger agenda they are being mobilized behind. Many of COSATU affiliates` members belong to the ANC and the SACP, and therefore will not approve the line that these renegades seek to take. These renegades are therefore playing in the hands of organisational disintegration.
Flowing from above, we condemned in strongest terms the booing of the President of our country by some people wearing ANC outfits. This is a foreign culture to the ANC. We recognise that this shocking new culture has been nurtured for some time now. We are saying this is the time to confront this malady head-on. The ill-discipline of booing the President when his picture appeared on screens, including all similar acts before, are a clear show of the embedded disgusting Western culture fostered to us during years of colonialism and white oppression and is not in sync with our values. The kind of democracy we have, equally, gives accommodation to these values, it lacks the content of revolutionary values.
We want to lead a debate on the need for democracy with revolutionary values and African characteristics. At the centre is the question of respect, magnanimity and dignity. It means respecting the powers and offices of those elected or appointed. It means solemn loyalty to the country and safe-guard of its image amongst nations.
Organisational programmes
We have resolved on various issues that will constitute key political activities:
Towards ANC victory!
The SACP once again shows its confidence in the leadership of Jacob Zuma and will work tirelessly to achieve more than 70% victory in KZN. We are very much part of the ANC phases of the campaign. We will intensify our campaign in rural areas, among workers and the youth.
We are confident that with the delivery of services and infrastructure by the ANC government in the province, our people can compare the periods between before and when the ANC was not running the province. The ANC as indeed done a lot in changing peoples` lives. People are a living testimony to the ANC and no amount of tarnishing it by some sections of the elite, renegades and liberals will damage the level of its election victory.
The Augmented PEC would like to extend its warmest greetings to South Africans on their festive seasons and they must ensure safety on our roads and in the community. We once again expect their whole hearted support in our fight against imperialism in general and South African capitalism in particular.
