The SACP has received with sadness the news of the passing away of former Chief Justice, Pius Langa. The country has lost one of the finest jurists with a good legal mind.
Former Chief Justice rose up the ranks of the legal system and was always on the side of the oppressed through-out his sterling career including years serving in progressive, anti-apartheid legal organisations like the National Democratic Lawyers Association (NADEL). That he pursued his studies by correspondence should serve to inspire our youth today who now have ample opportunities to take them up and use their own empowerment to serve the majority of our people.
The SACP extends it heartfelt condolences to the Langa family, friends and colleagues from the legal fraternity.
