SACP Central Committee To Meet In Johannesburg

The SACP will convene the 7th Plenary Session of the 12th Congress Central Committee in Johannesburg from the 27th February to 1st March 2009.

The Central Committee will over and above receiving and considering the Political and Organisational Report focus its discussions on the following key issues:

1. Scaling up of our elections work in support of an ANC overwhelming victory.
2. Some urgent transitional issues and measures including the proposed restructuring of government after the elections
3. Challenges facing the SACP after the 2009 elections, including adopting our 2009 Programme of Action
4. Current global capitalist economic crisis and challenges facing our country and movement.

In addition, members of the Central Committee will conduct door to door work in Alexander Township on Sunday, 1st March 2009, starting at 9h00.
