The SACP’s 12th National Congress Discussed the critical question of the SACP and its relationship to State Power and resolved to continue with the discussions internally in the SACP. Furthermore conference mandated the Politburo to continue to act as the standing commission of the SACP on State Power.
Congress then mandated the Central Committee to convene a Policy Conference this year to bring about finality on some discussion about the modalities to be pursued by the SACP in the contest of State Power.
The SACP will be convening the Policy Conference for that purpose from the 25th-28th September 2008.
The last leg of preparations for the Policy Conference will be the release of a final discussion document for our structures to consider at the policy conference. The General Secretary of the SACP will introduce the discussion document to members of the press as follows:
