Mass Democratic Movement Discuss Plans And Strategies For Court Appearance For ANC President

The leadership of the Mass Democratic Movement met on the today to discuss their views and perspectives on the appearance of the President of the African National Congress [ANC], President Jacob Zuma. President Zuma will be appearing in court on the 4th of August 2008 in Pietermaritzburg. The meeting was attended by the following organizations:

• ANC Youth League
• YCL
• SUCA
• YCS
• MKMVA
• ANC Women`s League
• COSAS
• SASCO

Amongst other things discussed in the meeting include support for the appearance of the president of the ANC, constitutional court processes and co-ordination of activities.

A media briefing will be conducted tomorrow, where the programme of our support for the ANC president will be outlined to the members of the media. The media is then invited to a press conference which will be addressed by the following leaders:

• National Secretary of YCL Cde Buti Manamela
• President of ANC Youth League Cde Julius Malema
• SASCO President Cde Mawethu Rune
• And leaders of the abovementioned organisations
