SACP Celebrates The 190th Anniversary Of Karl Marx’s Birthday

05 May 2008

May the 5th 2008 marks the 190th Anniversary of the birthday of Karl Heinrich Marx, a leading intellectual and The founder of the Communist movement internationally.

Karl Marx worked tirelessly to expose and demonstrate how much capitalism will never be able to play a developmental role and that it was system based on the exploitation of the poor. Today many of our people continue to be subjected to the worst conditions of living all because of the greed of those who own the means of production. Wars continue to ravage humanity, hunger, poverty and want remains rife, with the recent global food price soars signaling the latest attack on humanity. Basic service have been commodified, fuel costs continue to rise, proposals here at home to increase electricity tariffs by 53% and so forth are all signs of a capitalist system in shambles.

The superpowers continue not to conserve our environment and expose our people, whilst chasing profits, to unsafe working conditions.

As the SACP , as we pursue our struggle, we will continue to be guided by Karl Marx`s analysis and critique of Capitalism and the reality that Socialism is the only alternative to the problems that Capitalism has imposed on humanity.
