SACP supports the workers at Vodacom

The South African Communist Party Fully Supports The Picket To Be Held By The Employees Of Vodacom, One Of The Leading Mobile Phone Suppliers In Our Country.

The arrogance displayed by the management of Vodacom in firstly refusing to recognise the rights of the workers to belong to a trade union and their subsequent actions to refuse to recognise the Communication Workers Union as a legitimate representative of the workers, signals the growing attitude of big business to undermine both the constitution of our country and workers rights.

The conditions of workers at Vodacom are a result of the growing economy that is unable to create quality and sustainable jobs.

We call on South Africans who are subscribers of Vodacom to actively participate in the campaign to switch off their phones between 13H00 – 13H10 today and tomorrow in a course to force Vodacom to the table to negotiate.
