Invitation to Media Conference "No to War Against Iraq"

Participants in 'Stop the War Campaign' include:

African National Congress (ANC), Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), South African Communist Party (SACP), South African National Civics Organisation (SANCO), ANC Youth League, ANC Women's League, Congress of South African Students (COSAS), South African Students' Congress (SASCO),South African Council of Churches (SACC), Church of the Province of Southern Africa (Anglican Church), Musicians' Union of South Africa (MUSA), Media Review Network (MRN), Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD).

Numerous other organisations have expressed support including the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), the United Democratic Movement (UDM), and the Azanian People's Organisation (AZAPO).

The aims of the Campaign are to:

Bring together the broadest range possible of South African people and organisations to unite in action against war in Iraq around the slogans: "Stop the War!" and "Peace for Development"
Educate and conscientise our people on the problems facing the world and their impact on our country and the African continent.
Initiate a longer term South African movement for peace and nternational human solidarity.
