Earlier today, the South African Communist Party sent a message of support to the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) which starts from 08 November in Beijing, China. This is the first National Congress of the CPC in the new century.

SACP Message to the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China

Dear Comrade General Secretary
On the behalf of the Central Committee and the entire membership of the South African Communist Party, I take this opportunity to wish the CPC a very successful 16th National Congress. This is indeed a very historic Congress for the CPC and the people of China as a whole, as it is the first National Congress in the new century and millenium. It is a Congress that is tasked with mapping the way forward for the Party and the Chinese people in this new century and millenium.
As the SACP we are confident that your Party, as it has always done, will come up with appropriate resolutions and decisions to lead and strengthen the path of socialism for the Chinese people. Indeed, the 16th Congress of the CPC is not only of significance to the Chinese people, but to all communist, socialist and other progressive forces globally. The 16th Congress also takes place in the wake of growing US imperialist aggression and a heightened offensive to shape the world in the interests of one super power, around a single totalitarian idea of neo-liberalism and capitalism.
The resolutions of the 16th Congress will therefore be of significance in contributing towards the strengthening of progressive forces worldwide, and as an important bulwark against the current imperialist maneuvers. We therefore look forward to the resolutions of the 16th Congress.
We further take this opportunity, on the occasion of the 16th National Congress of the CPC, to reaffirm our solidarity with the Chinese people, to reaffirm our commitment to deepening relations between our two people’s and parties.
We wish you a successful and productive Congress.
