SACP General Secretary to Address the SADTU Congress

The SACP General Secretary Comrade Blade Nzimande will be speaking at the South African Democratic Trade Union’s 5th national congress at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) in Kwa Zulu Natal on Monday the 9th September 2002.

Comrade Blade Nzimande will amongst other things speak about the following key issues facing the working class, the poor, educators and education fraternity in general.

• Reporting back to the workers on the SACP 11th Congress held recently in Rustenburg, North West Province.
• The current developments in the Trade Union Movement
• The state of the alliance and its leadership within the context of the NDR
• Quality Education in our public schools and the role of educators as well as the ideology of education in the context of existing social relations in society and
• Reporting back on the recently held NEDLAC Financial sector summit emanating from a SACP Red October campaign in 2000.

These will be the gist of the address and of course the General Secretary will reflect on other pertinent issues affecting the working class and the poor. The issues mentioned above are central to the working class and the education fraternity in general.
