SACP To Meet with Left Parties from the European Union

The South African Communist Party (SACP) invites the media to an open Bilateral Meeting it will hold with the European Left (left patrties in the European Parliament) as detailed below.

TIME : 10h00 - 12h00
VENUE : 3rd Floor, COSATU House, 1 Leyds Street,Braamfontein

Some of the groups and parties which will attend the meeting are the Communist Party of France, Greens/European Free Alliance, European United Left, Nordic Green Left, Party of European Socialists, Refoundation Communist Party of Italy, Party of Democratic Socialism (Germany) and the Swedish Left Party.

In the context of the Johannesburg hosted World Summit on Sustainable Development, the issues for discussion will be:

• The Declaration Rio10: Save the Earth Summit: A sustainable world is possible, necessary and urgent released last night by the World Parliamentary Forum
• SACP-EU Left Co-operation and Solidarity
• An analysis of the international situation from a left perspective
