The General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), Blade Nzimande, will address the second Congress of the Amathole District (in the Eastern Cape) of the SACP as detailed below:

The Amathole District includes the towns of East London, King William's Town, Alice, Butterworth and Stutterheim and the vast rural areas and townships of the Border region of the Eastern Cape Province. In his address, Nzimande will cover the following:
The District Congress will take forward the above discussions and develop a Programme of Action the SACP will undertake in this District. This programme will focus on economic transformation, the building of co-operatives, poverty eradication, job creation and the building of sustainable communities in the District. The Congress will strengthen and consolidate the SACP, the ANC, COSATU, SANCO and other structures of the Mass Democratic Movement as the basis for the building of people's power, said Sivuyile Mkebe, the SACP Amathole District Secretary.
