The South African Communist Party (SACP) is looking to appoint a Gender Trainer and Co-ordinator and an Intern for its International Affairs Department to be based at its Head Office in Johannesburg.
1. Gender Trainer and Co-ordinator
Responsibilities
- Implement an international co-operation project on socialism and gender
equality focusing on education and training
- Develop, co-ordinate and conduct gender education, training and
development for SACP structures
- Monitoring, follow up, support and mentoring of participants in the
training programme
- Develop, co-ordinate and implement SACP gender policy and programmes
- Networking and alliance building with gender and women's organisations
- Monitor and co-ordinate SACP engagement with the legal and policy framework
which affects the transformation of gender relations
Requirements
- SACP membership
- Driver's Licence
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Knowledge and understanding of SACP policies on various gender, political,
economic and other social issues
- Skills and experience on education, training and development
- Skills, knowledge and experience on gender equality work
- Ability to write and report effectively
- Strategic planning experience and ability
- Ability to co-ordinate and drive the implementation of programmes
- Ability to work fast, efficiently and meet deadlines
- Basic research skills and experience
- Efficient time management and work planning
What is offered?

2. Intern for International Affairs Department
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate, develop, implement and monitor SACP programmes on
international policy, international affairs and general international
relations
- Co-ordinate and lead SACP input and work on building and strengthening
solidarity work and campaigns on Palestine, Swaziland, Western Sahara and
Cuba
- Co-ordinate necessary research and development of documents for SACP
programmes on international affairs, policy, solidarity and relations
- Build the capacity of Provincial SACP structures to take forward SACP
international work
- Co-ordinate SACP programmes on international relations with communist and
worker's parties and other solidarity organisations
- Co-ordinate the efficient safe keeping of SACP information on
international work
- Undertake other relevant political work with direction and supervision of
the General Secretary
Requirements
- SACP membership
