The South African Communist Party (SACP) congratulates the People’s Republic of China for winning the bid to host the 2008 Olympics.

This is a major achievement for developing countries. In this regard, the SACP is particularly proud of the Communist Party of China for leading the people of China to score this achievement. Hosting the 2008 Olympics must be used to contribute to socio-economic development in China and other developing countries.
