JOHANNESBURG - The South African Communist Party (SACP) has lashed out at Kebby Maphatsoe, head of the MK Military Veterans Association (MKMVA), saying he's playing factional battles by claiming they were wrong to go public with their claim that Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza had said he had a mandate to harass communists.
Earlier this week, the SACP also said Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan was being targeted, amid claims the Hawks were preparing to arrest him.
The SACP's Alex Mashilo says Maphatsoe is playing a political game and he's becoming a spokesperson for the Gupta family.
Maphatsoe has previously defended the Gupta family and said claims that they had offered the job of finance minister to Mcebisi Jonas were untrue.
