THE ANC Youth League and the South African Communist Party and civil society groups, laid charges at the Scottburgh police station on Monday against the infamous Penny Sparrow.
Sparrow took to social media recently to vent about the packed beaches. She referred to black people as "monkeys" and has been in the spotlight for her remarks ever since.
The league filed a charge of crimen injuria and incitement of violence.
According to media reports the original plan was to march to her house, but Sparrow was nowhere to be found.
Word was that she worked at her daughter`s nursery on most days, but the business was closed.
The ANC Youth League said in a statement that it would, within the confines of the law, be exploring all legal avenues to deal with this hate speech.
The statement also called upon society, particularly within the private sector, to unmask racists.
It read: "Our mothers and fathers who work and are treated as sub-humans must come out and report racist incidences. Enough is enough."
Herman Mashaba, the businessman who launched the "Black Like Me" range of cosmetic products has also laid a charge of crimen injuria against Sparrow at the Umhlali police station.
